Tips & tricks for using makeup with sunscreen

We continue to answer your questions about sunscreens. This time, in collaboration with dermatologist Dr. Ilze Koch of the Derma Clinic Riga clinic , we will clarify in what order daily facial care creams , sunscreen and decorative cosmetics are used ? Can they all be used together ? If the sunscreen is applied on top of the decorative cosmetics ( tonal cream and powder ) , will the sunscreen not be reduced ? If you have combination skin , do you need to use different sunscreens for each area? If you have a foundation with SPF and a foundation with SPF on your face , does that increase sun protection ?

If I wear a foundation with SPF and a foundation with SPF on my face , does it increase sun protection ?

No, it does not increase the strength of the protection itself, as protection (SPF) factors do not add up, but any product with SPF supports overall sun protection.

In what sequence should daily face care cream , sun protection cream and decorative cosmetics be used ? Is it possible to use them all together ? If the sunscreen is applied on top of the decorative cosmetics ( tonal cream and powder ) , will the sunscreen not be reduced ?

First, you should apply a day cream (fluid, serum, etc.) to your face, then wait at least 15-20 minutes (this is very important so as not to disrupt the functions and properties of the products) and then apply sunscreen. Then wait at least 15-20 minutes again and only then can you apply makeup. This way, the functions or effectiveness of the cream and sunscreen will not be disrupted. To shorten this process, it is possible to replace the daily cream with a sunscreen that also provides the properties of a daily cream, such as moisturizing or anti-aging effects - such as BB creams, etc. Or, instead of makeup, choose tinted versions of sunscreens and/or powder versions.
