BIODERMA Atoderm Intensive Baume balm - intensively eliminates itching and replenishes lipids. Extremely soothing and extremely nourishing.
The special Lipigenium™ complex, made from biolipids naturally found in the epidermis, restores the skin barrier over time. The synthesis of lipids and proteins that form the so-called intercorneocyte connective tissue is biologically stimulated. The anti-itch dermatological substance PEA quickly relieves itching and reduces the urge to scratch. The Skin Barrier Therapy™ patent prevents the adhesion of bacteria that irritate even the driest skin.
Thanks to the patented SKIN BARRIER THERAPY® complex, the attachment and reproduction of bacteria that aggravate skin irritation (Staphylococcus aureus) and the penetration of allergens are inhibited (both of these factors increase skin dryness).
The balm quickly relieves itching and reduces the urge to scratch the skin. Enriched with soothing and cleansing substances, it immediately relieves irritation.
Biological and sustainable restoration of the skin barrier function
LIPIGENIUM™ technology restores an effective skin barrier. It is a complex of multi-lamellar, biomimetic lipids and essential fatty acids that:
1) immediately physically restores the skin's protective layer,
2) biologically stimulates lipid and protein synthesis, achieving a lasting effect on the integrity of the skin barrier.
The patented SKIN BARRIER THERAPY® complex contains a sucroester that biologically protects against Staph. aureus colonization by creating barriers that prevent staphylococci from attaching to corneocytes. This biologically prevents Staph. aureus from multiplying in atopic skin, which can exacerbate skin dryness.
Reducing itching and soothing the skin
BIODERMA Atoderm Intensive Baume balm contains palmitoleethanolamide or PEA - a biomimetic fatty acid amide that is naturally found in the body and released during inflammation.
PEA:
- inhibits the release of the substance that causes the itching sensation,
- reduces skin sensitivity to various stimuli and increases the skin's pain tolerance threshold,
- inhibits the release of inflammatory substances.
Natural anti-inflammatory action
β-sitosterol is a plant-derived sterol or phytosterol that has cortisone-like effects. It inhibits the secretion of inflammatory mediators and has an immunomodulatory effect.
The biomimetic trace element zinc inhibits some inflammatory mediators.
Limiting the growth of microorganisms
Zinc gluconate, which is naturally present in the body, inhibits the proliferation of bacteria, especially Staph. aureus .
Phytosphingosine – a natural component of ceramides in the skin's hydrolipidic layer – regulates the skin's microflora, having a bactericidal effect against most pathogenic bacteria, especially Staph. aureus .
