Ultra-light, invisible-textured sunscreen that provides high protection from full-spectrum light (UVA, UVB, infrared, visible (including blue) light). At the same time, it promotes the formation of a lasting tan by activating the natural pigmentation process for a more intense and long-lasting tan. The familiar combination of letters on sunscreens – SPF (Sun Protection Factor) – is an indicator that only shows the risk of skin burning (caused by UVB rays). However, it has been scientifically proven that cell damage and irreversible DNA changes are caused by UVA radiation. Skin aging is caused by the entire spectrum of sunlight – both visible and infrared radiation. The filters included in Institut Esthederm sunscreens protect the skin from both UVA and UVB rays, as well as other rays of the light spectrum. That is why Esthederm indicates the level of protection with suns instead of SPF. If the UV index (sun intensity) is medium or high (3-6), which is usually the case in spring and summer in Latvia, choose a cream with 2 suns*.
